I couldn't help myself

Wasn't planning on this, ride another metric gravel that is, but I did. My legs had the 'tired feeling' but the urge hit me. So arranged with my manager to get off work early, headed home, packed up the Cross bike and rode metric century #5 for the week, making it 310 miles of gravel for the week.Put my mind on autopilot and just kept churning the pedals, my pace was better then I expected. My legs feel it now. One of the driving forces to get out and pedal Metric Gravel #73 was that tomorrow my honey and me have the annual Chili Fest to attend. An afternoon of outdoor music, and a good excuse to drink beer, so I was thinking of getting on the bike at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow and ride the distance, before all this started. But then thought, well if I ride today instead we can just hang out tomorrow. So wallaaa. After 35 miles I stopped here and took my shoes and socks off just because it felt good, drank a pop, ate a pop tart, drank some water, and headed back home.

This small town park pavilion has a drinking fountain, I drank from this ONCE.I thought a public bubbler must be good water, right? Well it tasted like if you were licking a galvanized pipe. How do I know what a licking a galvanized pipe tastes like you ask? I don't know, but that is what came to mind when I drank. Now that alone would not have been so bad, however 12 hours later I spent considerable time in the porcelain oval library room if you know what I mean. So I blamed it on the water ever since.

Made it home just before sunset, my bike tried to shut down on me, I said let's get going your a lot younger then me and we need to finish this trip.

was glad to get home before dark because out here in the country when it gets dark the bats and chupacabra come out seeking for prey, to victimize, terrorize, and do unspeakable things.

hmmmm, I just had a thought, if I get on the bike at 4:00 a.m. tomorrow I could ride the distance and be back in time to party down later. Nawwww, well maybe.........

Ok, sleep is calling me, well, Sunday is free for bike roaming.

Over and out and RideON,

Dave
