So if my blogging activity suddenly ceases, consider me held captive in a vampire bat cave, being kept barely alive for my blood.
Oh I had to work extra hours tonight doing stack emissions testing and didn't get on the bike, looking forward to some saddle time.

Here is the note that my son Caleb left on the coffee pot this morning. He knew that would be the first place I would go when I woke up and wanted to warn me of the danger that was lurking.
Now I don't have a fear of rattle snakes, attacking dogs, and clowns. But bats are the most evil creatures on earth. Attacking many innocent victims everyday. Now I have one running lose in my house. Lurking, waiting to attack.

How will you sleep knowing that bat is after your blood?
Everybody worries that bats can get tangled up in your hair, but hey, not a concern for you, bro.
Besides, they eat mosquitoes . . .
Bats are good creatures, however, once in a while they get hung up in a house! Just turn the lights off in the room you want them to exit from....just keep the door open so they can fly out! It works.

We've got bats in the loft of our house, they use it as a roost, over the summer months. When we first found this out we were none too pleased. The local council suggested we talk to the local bat society. A representative came inspected the loft, and told us that we were not allowed to have them removed, under threat of a heavy fine. It was explained that bats are losing their habitat next to man, and need all the help they can get. Now we're quite proud to help keep the population going. Despite the fact that the odd one gets into the house now and again, then there's panic!
