Triple D a.k.a Death march from hell

Me at the start of Triple D, all ready got some eyesickles developing. It was around 2 below Fahrenheit at start. The cold temperature was no problem you just learn how to dress right. I would venture to guess that there were only 5 finishers. Race started out through town then out in deep snow and everybody pushing their bikes which was exhausting. After a few miles of that we were able to get on our bikes at the town of Sageville and pedal without extreme difficulty. THEN!!!! The snow machine came through, and pulled the snow back on the trail. Without a Pugs 50% of your time was spent pushing. I sagged after 6 hours, my butt was whipped. Thanks Derick and Scott for the company and sharing the pain. :-) More later.

Wow, long day. You certainly look a little frosty in your photo. Hope it was fun. Get some rest.

Suppose you're getting that Pugsley now....

They had a used Pugs for sale at the prerace meeting. $1250.00. If things weren't so rushed I almost bought. I arrived at the prerace meeeting with 15 minutes to race start. To Pugs or not to Pugs that is the question.

Sorry I missed you at the event Dave. Had many of the same problems after the groomer came through--fell off twice and had countless front wheel washouts. Walked almost as much as I rode. Sagged out at Dyersville at the 5h 30m mark. Yeah, a Pugs sure would have made life easier...

6 hours in the snow - racing. That's pretty tough.

Get the Pugs....

They DO look like fun. That photo you posted today is pretty cool. Amazing to think a person can even get something like that to roll.
